What is palliAGED?
palliAGED was developed and is maintained by the CareSearch project team. It is an online evidence-based guidance and knowledge resource about palliative care in aged care for use by health professionals and the aged care workforce. There is also information for older Australians seeking information about palliative care. It incorporates and updates the evidence-based information previously contained in the Guidelines for a Palliative Approach in Residential Aged Care (APRAC) and the Guidelines for a Palliative Approach for Aged Care in the Community Setting (COMPAC).
This resource aims to provide knowledge for clinical decision-making and for the service and practice elements of care. Quality resources, information and links to other projects, and practice tools form an important part of the content.
Released in May 2017 as an online resource, information is available and accessible when needed and, as new evidence emerges, the guidance can be easily updated.
palliAGED will continue its role in the palliative care and aged care sector for the 2020-2023 period. We will continue to host and maintain the website as part of the CareSearch project, and continue work towards consolidation and activation of evidence and resources within palliAGED for the aged care sector. You can visit the palliAGED website at www.palliaged.com.au. You can register for the monthly newsletter and/or alerts, order resources or make enquiries.
